Department of Pediatrics of Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) is headquartered at Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters (CHKD). The hospital is the focus of all pediatric undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate training. The extensive pediatric faculty includes a widely varied full-time medical staff and numerous community physicians. More than 90 pediatric specialists treat illnesses such as premature birth, sickle cell disease, chronic asthma, diabetes, and cystic fibrosis. The Department of Pediatrics is also home to a fully accredited three-year pediatric residency program that provides a broad educational experience in all aspects of pediatric medicine.
