Pediatric Grand Rounds

Pediatric Grand Rounds are held weekly Weekly on Thursday mornings from 8-9 am in the Brickhouse Auditorium, and are sponsored by the Office of Continuing Medical Education, Eastern Virginia Medical School and offer 1 hour Category 1 CME credit. They are attended by fulltime faculty, community faculty, residents, and medical students.

Special Grand Rounds during the year include:

Resident  Morning and Noon Conferences

Resident teaching conferences held each morning at 8 am and at noon conferences are attended by faculty, residents, and medical students rotating in Pediatrics. The conferences provide part of the residency curriculum in general and subspecialty pediatrics. The conference schedule is on the Department Intranet.


Tidewater Pediatric Society

The Tidewater Pediatric Society (TPS) promotes collegial interactions between community physicians and Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters subspecialists.  TPS meets the education goals of community and hospital pediatricians by providing up-to-date medical information on etiologies, diagnoses, and management of common pediatric illnesses which can be applied to the clinical care of children.

TPS meets quarterly and includes a 1 hour reception followed by dinner and then a 1 hour presentation which provides 1 hour of category 1 credit.

Pediatrics 2008 at Williamsburg
(The Department's Annual CME Meeting)

Each year the EVMS Department of Pediatrics and CHKD sponsor an annual CME meeting for pediatric physicians, primary care physicians, subspecialty physicians, residents, fellows and other health care professionals. The 2007 meeting was held October 12-14, 2007.

Dates for future meetings are:

  • October 3-5, 2008
  • September 25-27, 2009

(The conferences will be held at the Williamsburg Lodge and Conference Center on Friday morning through Sunday noon)
