Forrest P. White Lectureship The Forrest P. White Lectureship is given annually in the fall as an EVMS Department of Pediatrics Grand Rounds. Though Dr. Forrest P. White retired in 1993 from the busy pediatric practice he helped establish, he continued to work for the good of Children’s Hospital right up to the time of his death. His talent for writing, his knowledge of the medical community, and his love for photography kept him busy in retirement. Many of his photographs grace the walls of the Children’s Hospital. Dr. White’s long and distinguished career was linked with Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters in many ways. He was among the very first community pediatricians to treat children in the new hospital when it was built in 1961. He served as president of the hospital Professional Staff. As Clinical Professor of Pediatrics, he taught and mentored many of the outstanding physicians who have completed their residencies here. This annual lectureship was established by Mrs. White in Forrest’s honor, and continues his commitment to education and his presence as a true friend of the children in this community. |
