Social Worker Symposium

The Department of Social Work sponsors a Grand Rounds and an all day Symposium twice a year, in the fall and in the spring. They invite well known researchers and authors to speak on various psychosocial topics that impact our inpatient and outpatient population as well as children and adolescents in the community. Our goal is to educate and promote mental health support and understanding through such topics as resilience in children, working with at-risk populations, ADHD LD, and anger and depression among youth. The Symposiums are open to a variety of professionals such as teachers, guidance counselors, probation officers, parole officers, social workers, counselors, psychotherapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, pediatricians, physical therapists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians.
