Adolescent Medicine

Overview
Patients are seen by referral only. We work closely with the primary care physician as well as other subspecialty pediatricians when required.  Adolescents must be referred with a specific condition, such as the following:

  • Female gynecologic evaluation an treatment for:

    • Sexually transmitted infections (STIs)

    • Polycystic ovarian syndrome

    • Menstrual abnormalities

    • Reproductive counseling

    • Contraceptive initiation

  • Male STIs and genitourinary problems

  • Nutritional concerns

  • Evaluation of weight loss

  • Acne

  • Chronic fatigue

  • Female athlete triad (no or irregular period, osteopenia, disordered eating)

  • Reflex sympathetic dystrophy

  • Depression, anxiety and substance abuse

Educational Activities
The Division will provide Pediatric Lectures, mentorship for the pediatric residents, and clinical instruction for rotations of residents and 3rd year medical students.
