Emergency Medicine

The Level 2 Emergency Medicine Division offers emergency health services 24 hours a day to patients less than 21 years of age. The Division is responsible for the immediate treatment of any medical or surgical emergency, for initiating life saving procedures in all types of emergency situations, and for providing emergency care for other conditions including chronic medical problems and minor injuries and illnesses.

The unit consists of 2 resuscitation rooms; 2 suture rooms; Fast Track area with 4 rooms; 1 Sexual Assualt Examination (SANE) room; 10 regular treatment rooms; 1 gynecological exam room; 1 otolaryngological, ophthalmologic and dental trauma exam room; 1 orthopedic room; and a monitored bed unit with 7 beds.
