Pediatric neurologists provide consultation,
evaluation and management of acute and chronic disorders of the
central and peripheral nervous and neuromuscular systems of
pediatric patients. Also, comprehensive services for seizure
disorders, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, mental retardation, learning
disabilities, developmental delay, attention deficit disorders,
neonatal neurological dysfunctions, birth defects, movement
disorders, headaches, and neuromuscular disorders, including
muscular dystrophy and spinal muscular atrophy. Special
procedures include brain stem evoked potentials; cranial
ultrasound and EEG.
