The Division of Pulmonology provides
consultative and attending physician services to patients from
birth through adolescence with acute and chronic respiratory
diseases. A major focus of the Pulmonology division involves the
care and management of technology-dependent children, including
those on ventilators, with tracheotomy tubes, supplemental
oxygen, and apnea-bradycardia monitors. Patients with asthma,
cystic fibrosis, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, pneumonias and
interstitial lung diseases are also evaluated and managed.
Inpatient consultation services are provided
twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week at CHKD. An
educational consultant is available in our clinics to meet each
patient.
