Academics

Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) is the academic home for the Department of Pediatrics, acting as the source for medical students and research infrastructure.

Our extensive pediatric faculty of over 125 pediatricians and pediatric subspecialists, along with 70 residents and fellows, partner with numerous community pediatricians to serve the Commonwealth of Virginia and neighboring regions of North Carolina. More than 90 pediatric specialists treat illnesses such as premature birth, sickle cell disease, chronic asthma, diabetes, and cystic fibrosis.
