The Division consists of six specialists, board certified in pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology, and one pediatric nurse practitioner. Our scope of care includes digestive, liver, biliary tract and pancreatic disease for infants, children and adolescents. We also treat the entire spectrum of nutritional disorders. In addition to our main office at the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters, the GI Division operates satellite offices in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake and Newport News. We also make monthly visits to St. Mary's Home for Disabled Children. Over 7,000 office visits, 300 admissions to the GI service and 400 inpatient consultations occur each year. The GI Division performs about 1,500 diagnostic and therapeutic procedures annually. A manometry program is the Division's latest addition. The Division was the recipient of the "Chairman's Award for Excellence in Clinical Education" in 2004 and again in 2007. |
