Starting residency is a significant turning point in your development as a physician. We understand your excitement and your uncertainty. The residents at Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters are living confirmation that it is possible to have fun while learning and training in pediatrics.

This is largely because of the truly unique environment of CHKD -- resident to resident, resident to chief resident, resident to faculty, and resident to program director. The years you spend at Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters will be demanding, but they will surely be some of the most rewarding years of your life. You will have the opportunity to work intimately with other residents, nurses, attendings and staff who are dedicated to your development into an excellent physician while simultaneously helping you preserve your quality of life.

CHKD residents have the unique educational opportunities, the residents work directly with knowledgeable and approachable attendings, each pediatric discipline has at least two faculty members, and having one large stand alone hospital allows you to interact with your colleagues at conferences and in the house staff lounge on a daily basis when on different rotations.

The size of our residency program allows us to be accommodating and flexible with residents who experience life changes at the same time providing a family atmosphere where each resident's voice is always heard.
